“FCA as a global organization has made some pretty exciting changes that focus on discipleship,” says Jake Hannon, FCA Metro Director of Buffalo, New York. “I’m eager to partner with the many thriving churches in the Buffalo area, grow our staff, and build relationships that are life-giving and impacted by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.”
As Metro Director, Hannon is tasked with leading the ministry in the metropolitan area of Buffalo, including the surrounding suburbs, by fundraising, creating a staff team, and casting vision for the future of FCA in the city.
Hannon is a Buffalo native and played Division 1 hockey at West Point his freshman year. While there, he met FCA’s National Hockey Director, Rick Randazzo. A short while later, Hannon gave his life to the Lord who opened the door for him to transfer to Liberty University where he continued his hockey career and completed a Bachelor of Science in Religion.
Upon graduation, Hannon continued on at Liberty where he served as Liberty University’s assistant hockey coach from 2013-15. He also served as chaplain for Liberty’s men’s hockey team and their youth hockey summer camps. In 2015, God called the Hannon family back to Buffalo and Jake began work with FCA as an Area Representative for Erie County.
Family, exercise, and ministry are among Hannon’s greatest loves. He lives in Buffalo with his wife, Rebecca, and six children: Grace, Daniel, Gabriella, Mila, Addie, & Rosie.
